Set in the tranquil ‘hidden garden’ of the Scottish Book Trust in the heart of Edinburgh’s city centre, Scott Laverie’s Yurta serves as a monument to the adventure of creativity. On the one hand it is a tower, a monument associated for thousands of years with settled civilisations. And on the other it appears as a shack-like mobile dwelling, a home for nomads and explorers.

Throughout its stay Yurta will host the work of local emerging artists from a variety of disciplines. On the 5 th of August Tremors will unearth some of the capital’s underground musicians: Usurper, Wounded Knee, Hockeyfrilla, F.R.U., and more.

The finissage will take place on Saturday 2 September with the Edinburgh launch of some Trajectory publications from the 2006 collection, including Scott Laverie’s Finding Hroswitha. Trajectory is a Glasgow-based publication house which promotes artist’s books. for more visit www.somethinghaptic.com
