For Musique Cinematique four early twentieth century avant-garde short films will be shown projected onto the walls of the Mural Room in Edinburgh College of Art, accompanied by three-piece band eagleowl. eagleowl will perform a live soundtrack in their own brand of alternative post-folk, with their trademark array of instruments from glockenspiel and double bass to mandolin and ukulele. The films - by Marcel Duchamp, Fernand Leger, Man Ray and John Vigo, - are fascinating semi-abstract studies, proving an ideal starting point for both the band's experimental songs and improvisations, and for Ruth Beale's accompanying works on paper.
With kind support from Edinburgh College of Art.
