"improvisualisation"

Housed on the third floor within a generously proportioned 1970’s disused office building in Meadowbank, Edinburgh, gLEdinbOW… will explore the theme of the sibling rivalry/kinship between Edinburgh and Glasgow. Five artists currently based in Edinburgh will take part in the show. They have together invited Glasgow based artists to be included, specifically choosing their sibling rival equivalent, drawing parallels from childhood games when children choose class mates to be on their team, playfully exploring the differences and unique qualities of each city. Artists based in Edinburgh are: Satoko Kiuchi, Steve Mykietyn, Tonya McMullan, Paulina Sandberg and Derek Sutherland. Their chosen Glasgow based artists are to be confirmed. New artist-run initiative echo utilises in-between spaces and un-seen locations to present a smörgåsbord of contemporary art. glEdinbOw… is echo’s third event since its launch earlier this year, and the most ambitious project so far, bringing together ten artists for an impressive group exhibition coinciding with the Edinburgh Art Festival. Previously echo organised an exhibition in a hotel bedroom in Edinburgh and put together the ‘All Can Film Night’ screening experimental and underground artists’ films.
