APPROPRIATOR is a project that seeks to appropriate ‘unconventional’ spaces for its own use, creating dialogues between the existing visual territory and the works interacting with and within this territory. Projektor will utilise the visual no-man’s land of the world around us; the streets, building facades etc. that belong to our field of vision and everybody else’s, and thus cannot be claimed as public or private. Film, text, and animation will be projected onto a series of specific sites in guerilla fashion. These projections will be created in discourse with the site to open up a visual dialogue that comments on the function, history, visual perception and conventions of the site. |
